Dear Internet,

Can we all please stop drawing pictures of Sherlock Smaugs, Cumberdragons, Benesmaugs and so on and so forth. Yes, Benedict Cumberbatch is going to voice Smaug the Dragon; It is going to rule and I am just as excited as all of you, but this new “fandom” is just 100% frustrating and 150% stupid.

Cool. Thanks.

Quickly now to the top of this rock the eagles swooped one by one and set down their passengers.  “Farewell!” they cried, “wherever you fair, till your eyries receive you at the journey’s end!” That is the polite thing to say among eagles. “May the wind under your wings bear you where the sun sails and the moon walks,” answered Gandalf, who knew the correct reply.

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt. It lies behind stars and under hills,And empty holes it fills. It comes first and follows after,Ends life, kills laughter.
Chapter V - Riddles in the Dark

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.

“I will give you a name,” he said to it, “and I shall call you Sting.”
The days when a new photo/trailer/video from The Hobbit movie is released are the best days ever. This is most likely from Flies and Spiders, and easily one of my favourite moments in the book. Bilbo the web-cutter!
I wish I had someone to share my excitement with at times like this!

Somehow the killing of the giant spider, all alone by himself in the dark without the help of the wizard or the dwarves or of anyone else, made a great difference to Mr. Baggins. He felt a different person, and much fiercer and bolder in spite of an empty stomach, as he wiped his sword on the grass and put it back into its sheath.

Next year The Hobbit movie will be released. Next year is the Year of the Dragon, according to the Chinese Zodiac.
It is little things like this that make me smile.
